I am a native of Marble Falls, having grown up and completed high school here. I attended Abilene Christian University where I earned a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics with minors in Accounting and Secondary Education. Upon graduation, I was hired by Waxahachie ISD to teach 8th grade Math and Algebra. After two years, I received my certification in Business Composite, Business Administration, Basic Business, and Secretarial Business. This led to a change of campuses from the Jr. High to the High School where I taught Algebra 1, Business Computer Applications, Keyboarding, and Computer Science for 4 more years. I was involved with the youth not only during the school day but also through the youth program at the local Church of Christ during that time.
During my 6th year, I met my future husband while on a church retreat in Montana. Seven months later, we married and I moved to British Columbia, Canada where I spent the next 6 years helping my husband with his outdoor wilderness business - having many adventures along the way.
God blessed us with two healthy boys while we were there. And then God led our family back to Marble Falls and we have been here for 5 years. In between diapers, Bible stories and Cub Scouts, I have been involved both in children's education as a member of the Church of Christ and in tutoring students from both Faith Academy and MFISD. With both of our boys in full time school this year, I wanted to find a teaching job that allowed me to use the talents God has given me but to not take away from my involvement with my boys' educational experiences. Teaching at Faith Academy is God's answer to this desire. I am very excited about the opportunity to teach in a Christian environment because being a Christian example to others through the classroom and everyday life - especially for my two boys - is what I believe God has given me the ability to do.
